Craig and Courtney both live in Canberra but their roots were firmly planted in Queensland a good number of years ago. Last weekend they packed their bags, and their Canberran (hope that’s a word!) friends and flew up to Brisbane to relax for a little while before saying ‘I do’ on the lawns of South Bank.
Courtney and Craig are a perfect match! With quick wits and sharp humour, there were plenty of laughs during the photo shoot which made for an excellent way to spend the afternoon before heading into the reception.
The River Room in South Bank is host to some amazing city views from across the Brisbane river and this clear night in particular saw many guests soaking in the colourful lights from the spacious balcony. Highly Recommended!
And here is the slide show we played on the night….
By the way, we loved their silhouette shot (with the dream-catcher hanging from the tree) so much that we decided to use it on the front page of our website!
At the start of the year we really wanted to update the look of our website, our blog, our business cards – but we didn’t have a very good idea about what we wanted these to look like or how to go about finding out. That is until our friend Olga, graphic designer (& teacher), suggested we run a competition with her students to see who comes up with the best ideas for us. Well we thought it was a great idea and we even offered a Bamboo Fun Wacom tablet to the winner.
Joseph Nicholls was our winner because he came up with the cleanest and clearest design which prompted our own design ideas and resulted in what we have today at http://www.kwintowski.com.
Here’s a little blurb:
“Joseph Nicholls is a Brisbane based Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Through his background in fine art and graphic design he has developed a strong interest in both traditional and digital mediums often combining the two in his work. Hand rendered typography and imagery are prominent features in his work.”
We think Joseph is great! You can view his website at http://www.josephnicholls.com.au. If you are looking for someone to design your website, business card, brochure…. anything at all, have a chat with Joseph and see if he can help you!
For anyone that isn’t familiar with weather in Brisbane, this is what our “winter” looks like! Sun in the sky, rich greens and tweeting birds abound.. the perfect day for a stroll in the park.
As I arrived at Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens to meet Monique and Sinclair the first thing I noticed was their great sense of style (and Monique’s funky jewelery and accessories) – I knew it’d be a fun shoot!
Both Monique and Sinclair work with the Environment, so one could almost say they were ‘at ease’ with the location and this really made the shoot that much more relaxing!
I have to say, when Monique brought out her gumboots and umbrella I was in seventh heaven!
We were due to fly out the day after our Sydney wedding shoot, but not before taking part in a little anniversary gift Melissa had organised for Lech.
Lech tells us this was the first sunny weekend in Sydney since the start of winter, and what better place to be than enjoying a relaxing stroll along the walkways of the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Here are some photo’s we snapped before heading off to the airport…
